Ulster Launches Redesigned Tourism Website

County Executive Mike Hein announces the launch of the newly redesigned Ulster County Tourism website, UlsterCountyAlive.com. The completely revamped website encompasses user-friendly navigation and includes: an overview of events throughout Ulster County, a lodging reservation system, general tips and guides for travelers and a mapping tool for identifying recreational activities.  It also showcases the beauty of Ulster County with pictures of the area and includes a vast video library.

The website includes a new responsive design so it can be displayed effectively on all electronic devices such as desktop computers, mobile phones and tablets, and contains listings of over 800 tourism locations.

The dynamic calendar feature allows travelers to view events and directly add them to their personal calendar.  There is also a translation function with more than 90 accessible languages and users will have access to a video and publication library for informational material produced by Ulster County Tourism.

“The newly redesigned Ulster County Tourism website is an outstanding resource for visitors and residents alike and provides users with a vast array of events, recreational opportunities, and places to dine and stay throughout the County,” said Ulster County Executive Mike Hein. “It is a great tool that can assist those planning a trip to the area, enabling them to visualize what to expect when visiting Ulster County.  We are fortunate to have so many amazing places to explore and I want to thank Ulster County Tourism Director Rick Remsnyder and his team for redesigning UlsterCountyAlive.com into a user-friendly website that promotes Ulster County as a great place to live and an amazing destination to visit.”

“I urge everyone to visit our new website as it contains something for everyone,” said Ulster County Tourism Director Richard J. Remsnyder.  “The menu at the top of the home page gives users a choice of `Play, Eat, Stay´ and makes navigation simple.  In addition, the REConnect feature allows users to map out their interests – whether it is hiking, skiing, swimming or a visit to the waterfalls, REConnect is an interactive mapping tool designed to help you plan your adventure in Ulster County.”
