Ulster County Tourism showcases area tourism properties in virtual Chamber breakfast

Ulster County Regional Chamber Virtual Breakfast July 22, 2020

On Wednesday, July 22, the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Ulster County Tourism co-hosted a virtual edition of the Chamber’s monthly breakfast meeting.

This particular meeting, titled “Ulster County - A World Class Vacation Destination,” provided attendees with a rare behind-the-scenes virtual tour of several premier tourism properties across the county, courtesy of co-host Rick Remsnyder, Director of Ulster County Tourism.

Ulster County’s ideal proximity to New York City and the Hudson River, rich agriculture, and natural beauty have made it a vacation destination for more than 150 years. Visitors seeking outdoor adventure, breathtaking scenery, historic architecture, sophisticated dining, and vibrant culture can find it all here.

During the chamber breakfast, which was broadcast live on Facebook from the Seven21 Media Center in Kingston by Ellenbogen Creative Media, Remsnyder guided guests through Rocking Horse Ranch Resort in Highland, Emerson Resort & Spa in Mt. Tremper, Pine Ridge Dude Ranch in Kerhonkson, Honor’s Haven Retreat & Conference in Ellenville, and the storied Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, a National Historic Landmark that just celebrated its 150th anniversary.

With their world-class amenities, revered farm-to-table dining, historic architecture, and pastoral settings, these five properties embody the spirit of Ulster County and its growing appeal as a global tourism destination. Since the 2017 launch of its tourism marketing campaign, “Seek For Yourself,” Ulster County has seen significant growth in tourism revenue every year and is beautifully aligned with cultural shifts that are driving current travel trends of getting out of crowded spaces, reconnecting with the outdoors, and experiencing alternative paths.

“Local businesses like these treasured resorts are what makes the tourism and hospitality industry in Ulster County so strong,” Remsnyder said. “That’s why I’m confident tourism will rebound from the devastating impact of the pandemic in the near future.”
