Business and Safety Ad Campaign Launches Promoting Uptown Kingston

Uptown Kingston is Open

A campaign to promote Uptown Kingston was launched today, “Uptown Kingston is Open: Eat, Shop, Stay”, sponsored by the Kingston Uptown Business Association (KUBA) and Ulster Savings Bank. The campaign encourages safe visits to Uptown Kingston’s many shops, restaurants and other businesses that have reopened following the New York State Pause. Information about individual businesses, their hours open to the public, and customer and employee safety information may be found at a new website, www.UptownIsOpen.com.

The advertising campaign is intended to help local businesses as they reopen by encouraging customers to visit, and promote a safety message that includes wearing masks and social distancing. The campaign message will be carried on radio, print, social media, digital, posters, emails, fliers, banners, and more.

According to Elenie Loizou, president of KUBA “many businesses need to reopen in order to stay in business, and this campaign is intended to encourage visitors to Uptown, as well as convey a clear message about what is expected for safe and appropriate behavior.” Bill Calderara, president of Ulster Savings, added “these are definitely challenging times for business, but together we can get through this. Uptown Kingston is where Ulster Savings opened our very first branch on Wall Street back in 1851, so we are very pleased to be a part of this initiative.”

Businesses interested in being listed as ‘Open’ on the website may submit their information at www.UptownIsOpen.com.

The campaign is currently scheduled to run through the summer.
