The town of Ulster is known as “The Hudson Valley’s Gateway to Beauty and Business.” It continues to grow and thrive due, in part, to its excellent location. The town of Ulster, nestled in the Hudson Valley and the Catskill Mountains, almost completely surrounds the city of Kingston and is right off of Exit 19 on the New York State Thruway. Ulster is noted for its appeal to many different lifestyles. Residents and neighboring communities enjoy the town of Ulster’s beautiful Charles Rider Park and Robert Post Park, both along the Hudson River, boasting a boat launch, pavilions, picnicking and fishing. Ulster also has two additional boat launches on the Esopus Creek and Rondout Creek. There is easy access to great skiing, fishing, boating, hiking, theatre, music, historical sites, shopping, fall colors, summer festivals, county fairs and a vast array of shopping centers, restaurants and hotels.
