TMI Project Presents Two New Transformative Storytelling Performances in Kingston

On Thursday, Aug. 9 and Wednesday, Aug. 15, as part of ongoing partnerships with two Hudson Valley-based nonprofit organizations, the Mental Health Association in Ulster County and RUPCO, Kingston-based storytelling non-profit TMI Project will present two true storytelling performances free to the public. At both performances, a cast of storytellers will share their true, personal perspectives uncovered through a 10-week storytelling workshop with TMI Project. Readers will share their recent writings based on those epiphanies–stories that will inspire, sadden, madden, and enlighten you. The workshops and performances are presented as part of TMI Project’s Community Outreach Initiative, through which the organization brings its time-tested teaching methodology to underserved groups within its social justice focus areas, the most prominent being gender, race, sexuality and mental health. Regardless of background or experience, TMI Project storytellers become agents of change by bravely and candidly sharing the “too much information” parts of their stories, the parts they usually leave out because they’re too ashamed or embarrassed. Both performances are free and open to the public. True Storytelling with TMI Project @ MHA in Ulster CountyThursday, Aug. 9, 2 p.m.Mental Health Association in Ulster County300 Aaron Court, Kingston, New YorkTo RSVP, or for more information, please contact Kathryn Lucia at MHA in Ulster:845-339-9090, ext. 2202, or at klucia@mhainulster.comJoin us for an afternoon of true storytelling performances from TMI Project/Mental Health Association of Ulster County writing workshop participants. This performance is part of TMI Project’s ongoing partnership with MHA in which 10-week storytelling workshops are offered to MHA clients and the general public free of charge. RSVP: Contact Kathryn @ 845-330-9090 x 2202 or email klucia@mhainulster.com True Storytelling with TMI Project @ RUPCOWednesday, Aug.15, 7 - 9 p.m.The Lace Mill165 Cornell S., Kingston, New YorkLace Mill resident-artists share with you their true, personal perspectives uncovered through a 10-week storytelling workshop with TMI Project.
