My Song Shall Be Alway at Church of St. Francis de Sales in Phoenicia

The Linden Players offer a program of sacred vocal music and instrumental music, pairing Purcell's intimate songs with Handel's grand arias from his sacred oratorios. From Purcell's "The Blessed Virgin's Expostulation," dramatizing Mary's inner thoughts at the Annunciation, to Handel's exuberant "O, Had I Jubal's Lyre," the program will highlight the wide range of expression in English sacred music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, interspersed with well-known selections from the treasury of English hymns. Soprano Claire Ferner is joined by David Miller (viola da gamba) and Matthew Hall (harpsichord) in a program that is near to their hearts. Having performed together since 2010, the New York-based Linden Players have delighted audiences throughout New York and New England.
