Lecture: ““The Secret History of American River People” at Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston

Wes Modes, director of the Secret History of American River People project, which seeks to record the stories of ordinary Americans who live in river towns and cities throughout the United States, discusses his travels on America’s rivers, the people he has met along the way and their stories. $10 for HRMM members (Household level and above), $15 for non-members. 2 p.m. in the Riverport Wooden Boat School classroom. In conjunction with the Shantyboat visiting vessel and the Conference on Black History in the Hudson Valley (July 14). HRMM’s Follow the River Lecture series is sponsored in part by Rondout Savings Bank.
