Foliage Views at Sam's Point

Join Becca Howe-Parisio, Interpretive Ranger, for a 5 mile hike out to a magnificent view on High Point Carriage Road. On this hike we will walk out to see a view of the Catskills and Gerturde’s Nose as the foliage contrasting against the spooky burnt Pitch Pines from the 2016 Wildfire. We’ll walk back on High Point Carriage Road and see Lake Maratanza and finish with the view from Sam’s Point. Participants must wear appropriate shoes and bring a backpack with plenty of water, snacks, and lunch. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.  Due to COVID protocols, the total number of participants for this program is limited to twelve individuals. All participants must wear face coverings or keep a minimum six foot distance away from others who are not part of your immediate household. Meet at the Sam’s Point Visitor Center. Pre-registration is required by calling Sam’s Point at 845-647-7989.
