The Civil Rights Movement and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On the day we honor Martin Luther King Jr., we will have a discussion about the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King, featuring a display of books, articles and other materials. You will also learn about the African Roots Center – our history, mission and the programs and services we provide – and explore our library collection of books for children and adults that focus on people of color. Join us for this evening of discovery and to learn more about the African Roots Center. This program is presented as part of our Real History Series. All are welcome. The event is free. This program is funded in part by Humanities New York with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
