Monthly Volunteer Day at Sam’s Point

Join Dylan Medici, Student Conservation Association Ecosystem Stewardship Assistant, in giving some much-needed attention back to our beloved park through this series of monthly volunteer days. Every second Sunday of the month, volunteers will learn about tools and techniques for making and maintaining the trails at Sam’s Point. Projects might include removing invasive species, trimming trees and shrubs, or crushing rocks. Dress appropriately for working outdoors: long pants and boots are highly recommended. Volunteers should also bring plenty of water, a lunch, and snacks. We will eat lunch on the trail. Safety equipment is provided by the Park but bringing your own is recommended. This program is appropriate for adults and children thirteen years and older, accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Due to COVID protocols, the total number of participants for this program is limited to 15 individuals. All participants must wear face coverings or keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others. Meet at the Sam’s Point Visitor Center. Pre-registration is required by calling Sam's Point at 845-647-7989.
