“The Owl and The Pussycat" Presented by TheaterSounds in Kingston

TheaterSounds next play reading is Bill Manhoff’s comedy “The Owl and The Pussycat." Two deluded characters can see each other’s weaknesses but not their own. Only when they discover and accept the truth about themselves can they begin to find happiness with each other. TheaterSounds producer Jonathan Van Gieson, when he was a child, saw a poster advertising a production of this play in which his mother, Nicola Shearer, had the starring role. “Join us,” says Jonathan, “as I finally satisfy my curiosity by doing a reading of the actual play my mother starred in lo those many years ago. Variety reports it to be ‘zany’ and ‘laugh-filled,’so I'm quite looking forward to it.” Susannah Melone* stars in the reading and Jonathan plays Felix in this hilarious classic from 1964. Ken Thompson  reads the stage directions.
