Bright Ideas Festival in Stone Ridge

The Bright Ideas Festival, a free festival showcasing science, innovation, math and creativity, returns for a second year at the High Meadow School on April 29 in Stone Ridge. The festival is centered around the theme of “invention, creativity and problem solving for all ages” and focuses on STEAM-themed learning experiences.

The Bright Ideas Festival invites families from across the Hudson Valley to participate in a wide variety of activities.  Parents and students will have an opportunity to interact with the following: robotics and drones with Hudson Valley Pathways Academy; 3D printing with SUNY New Paltz; Bard College's Math Circle; solar telescopes with Mid Hudson Astronomy; cooperative games; geography challenge (win prizes) and a special performance by Mad Science at 4 p.m. Throughout the day, a pop-up cafe will be serving food provided by Full Moon Resort, Applestone Meats and many local bakers. Festival organizer Rochelle Victor says, “Our goal is to get the community at large engaged with what it means to solve problems with technology and invention.”
